Winter Boots

Last Winter I missed out on new ankle boots because I left it too late. This year, I will have the upper hand!

My bone-coloured suede ankle boots have seen me through two seasons and are, I'll admit, starting to look a little tatty. This year I want to get a new pair of tan/camel boots for weekends (lower heel), a black pair for work and another black pair for weekends. Am I up for the challenge? Maybe...

Cashmere + Leather

I've worn my Sass & Bide navy cashmere jumper so much over Winter. Bought in Melbourne in April, I had to wait until July for it to be cold enough in Auckland to wear. I'm new to cashmere. It's a gorgeous fabric, and so much warmer than merino.

Although an investment piece at NZ $400, I've been on the hunt for a quality cashmere jumper for about a year. This one is so versatile. I love how it looks with different fabrics, such as the smooth leather-look pencil skirt in the images below.

Now Spring is here, it will be lovingly wrapped in tissue and put into storage until next July!

Almost Boho

This outfit is my nod to boho-style dressing. Rather than go for the all-out modern hippie look, I've opted to interpret key parts of the boho look in my own way.

I've toned down flower power florals by chosing a light cotton pant that features a tiny floral print in black and white. My 'chambray' is an indigo cotton voile shirt tied at the waist for shape. And my 'cowboy' boots are actually a suede ankle boot. The elements are there, but they are tweaked to create a look that's funky, yet age-appropriate and not overwhelming:
