Wearing Fluro at 40+

I have been thinking about adding some fluro yellow into my wardrobe for some time. I'm very inspired by this look which mixes monochrome and fluro, so I'll be on the hunt for a thin yellow belt this weekend!

Ballet Flats: Good or Evil - Update!

A few weeks ago I told you about the love/hate relationship I have with my ballet flats. Now, I buy quality Sambag flats which are well-made and sturdy but still lack any decent arch support. Well I ended up trialling some 'Catwalk' insoles from Footlogics. These have been great! Thin enough to not raise my feet up out of the shoe too much, and they provide enough support to enable me to wear my flats for several hours without leg fatigue and pain. My shoes also fit a little more snugly now - good news as they were beginning to stretch. I highly recommend these insoles!

Meadowlark on Foureyes

The Foureyes boys were recently invited for a tour around Meadowlark Jewellery's new work room. What a cool-looking place! I for one am keen to try some new jewellery styles this season. With my shopping weekend coming up fast, I can't wait to see what's out there!

Shopping Sisters

Every Queens's Birthday Weekend since 2004 my gorgeous sister Tanya and I have met in Wellington for a three-day sisters' weekend of shopping, eating and coffees! About this time, we start thinking about what we will look for. Here's my starter list...

Large Black Clutch Bag
Black Patent Point-toe Heels
Casual Trench Coat
Slim-leg Black Work Pants
Winter Dress

To be honest, I am in a bit of a weird place with my clothes. It's all about fit (or lack of it) for me lately. I am getting lots of alterations done as I have slimmed down but still remain big in the bust. That means I often have to stick to size L or XL to cater for the bust but have an excess of fabric around the mid section.

So, this year's Wellington shopping mantra for me is 'fit and silhouette'.

In the meantime, I had some online shopping success. My French Connection skinnies are getting a bit old so I sourced some new ones (ordered Tuesday from Australia, arrived Friday). What great service!

A Little Bit of Luxury

Thought Net-a-Porter was just for wealthy celebs? OK, so most of their stock is going to cost you more than your house. But there are a few designer gems available for a reasonable outlay. Here are my personal favourites...

Isabel Marant | Cadwell Striped Canvas Belt | US $73.54

Marc by Marc Jacobs | Heart-Shaped Acetate Headphones | US $54.60

MCQ Alexander McQueen | PVC Bracelet | US $93.61
